The Kansas City Chiefs are set to square off against the Los Angeles Chargers in SoFI Stadium in Week 4 for their first AFC West matchup of the 2024 NFL season.

The Chiefs will be without RB Isiah Pacheco (IR), WR Hollywood Brown (IR), and DE Mike Danna, who was ruled out on Friday. The Chargers' injury situation is much more significant with key absences on both sides of the ball that could make life difficult for Jim Harbaugh's team. Kansas City must prove they can take advantage against a banged-up and injury-depleted squad.

Here's a quick breakdown of the inactive players for each team during Sunday afternoon's game:

Chiefs inactive players:

  • OT Ethan Driskell
  • OL CJ Hanson
  • DE Mike Danna
  • DT Marlon Tuipulotu

Chargers inactive players:

  • OLB Joey Bosa
  • LB Junior Colson
  • RB Kimani Vidal
  • LT Rashawn Slater
  • RT Joe Alt
  • DB Ja'Sir Taylor
  • DB Deane Leonard

Observations:

The Chiefs still haven't had to use a practice squad elevation this season.

Chiefs DE Cameron Thomas is ACTIVE and is expected to play some snaps on Sunday with Danna out. Expect Felix Anudike-Uzomah to draw the start, but Thomas should be the first one off the bench on Sunday.

Chargers QB Justin Herbert WILL play on Sunday despite a high ankle sprain. He's likely to play behind an offensive line (left to right) featuring Jamaree Salyer, Zion Johnson, Bradley Bozeman, Sam Mustipher, and Trey Pipkins.

The Chargers elevated LB Blake Lynch from the practice squad. Their linebacker situation is quietly just as dire as their offensive tackle situation with Chris Rumph and Nick Niemann on injured reserve and Shaquille Quarterman out of practice squad elevations already.

While not listed as inactive, S Derwin James II will not play due to a suspension.
