The Kansas City Chiefs are dealing with some injuries on the defensive side of the ball during their wild-card round playoff game against the Miami Dolphins.

Early on in the game, the Chiefs' top run-stuffing defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi left the game briefly with an elbow injury. He was deemed questionable to return and he eventually did return to the game. That return was brief, though.

Just after halftime, the team downgraded Nnadi to OUT with his elbow injury. They also deemed LB Cam Jones questionable with a chest injury. Jones plays mostly on special teams, though had a dominant defensive showing in Week 18 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chiefs are not exactly flush with depth along the interior defensive line. Neil Farrell Jr. is among inactive players and Isaiah Buggs was not elevated from the practice squad for this game. This almost certainly means more snaps for practice squad elevation Mike Pennel. He's been rotating with Nnadi to keep the two players fresh alongside Chris Jones. Expect that we'll see some different looks from Steve Spagnuolo to account for Nnadi's absence.
