After missing the team's Thursday practice due to a calf injury, Kansas City Chiefs DE Mike Danna was back on the field for the "Fast Friday" walkthrough. Unfortunately, the results of Danna's return to practice weren't what the Chiefs had hoped.

"As far as the injuries go, we've really just Michael Danna, he's the only one," Chiefs HC Andy Reid said on Friday. "After our walkthrough, that calf was bothering him. So, we'll probably end up holding him out of the game until we get the thing calmed down a little bit."

The team would later officially rule out Danna on their final injury report. Danna's absence could prove to be more significant than initially realized for Kansas City. The veteran edge rusher has 17.5 career sacks, with five total coming against the Los Angeles Chargers in seven games over the last four seasons.

Expect DE Cameron Thomas, who the Chiefs acquired via trade with the Cardinals at the 53-man roster cut deadline, to be active for the Week 4 game on Sunday.

"Yeah, I think he's ready to roll," Reid said. "Yeah, he's a pretty sharp kid and plays hard, so he's been working in there for the last few weeks. "

Notes & observations:

  • As expected, Danna was ruled out for Week 4.
  • Chamarri Conner was a full participant in practice on Friday after popping up on the injury report for the first time on Thursday. That's a good sign and likely indicates there isn't something larger to worry about with his heel injury, such as an Achilles issue.

Notes & observations:

  • The Chargers will be without four players for certain in Slater, Bosa, Colson, and S Derwin James. They have six others listed as questionable for the game.
  • To emphasize just how bad the injury situation is, LA added CB Deane Leonard to the injury report with a hamstring injury on Friday. They're still getting new injuries in walkthroughs.
