The Kansas City Chiefs are playing things safe with a pair of injured players in Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers.
RB Isiah Pacheco (IR, Ankle) and DE Charles Omenihu (PUP, Knee) were officially ruled out of the Week 12 game in Carolina by Chiefs HC Andy Reid on Friday. He said they'll continue to take things "day-by-day" with both players as they look to make their return to the field. This is the second consecutive week they'll each be ruled out since the team opened 21-day practice windows.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added this on No. 10: "Pacheco is healthy enough to go, but based on the coaches and trainers recommendation, with a short week coming up, he’ll wait."
The decisions on Pacheco and Omenihu point to the team proceeding cautiously with two players who will be very important to the team's success in the season's final stretch and heading into the playoffs.
