Chiefs-Jaguars Week 5 inactive players lists: A decision on WR Xavier Worthy has been made

The Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars have released their inactive players lists for their Week 5 matchup on Monday Night Football.

Cornerback Kristian Fulton (ankle) and defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott (shoulder) were listed as questionable on Kansas City’s final injury report, and wide receiver Xavier Worthy popped up on the report on Sunday with swelling in his ankle.

The Jaguars have already ruled out linebacker Yasir Abdullah, and have made a game-time decision on defensive end Travon Walker, who underwent a minor surgical procedure this past week on his wrist. Let’s take a look at each team’s full lists of inactive players.

Chiefs inactive players

  • DT Omarr Norman-Lott
  • CB Kristian Fulton
  • OL Hunter Nourzad
  • RB Elijah Mitchell
  • TE Jared Wiley
  • DE Malik Herring

Observations:

  • Worthy is active and will play despite the scare with his ankle. He made his return from a shoulder injury last week.
  • Norman-Lott injured his shoulder during Friday’s practice and will not play in this matchup. The Chiefs elevated DT Marlon Tuipulotu from the practice squad to replace him.
  • Fulton will miss his third consecutive game with an ankle injury. Rookie CB Nohl Williams, who has played great during Fulton’s absence, will continue to see plenty of snaps in his place.

Jaguars inactive players

  • DE Travon Walker
  • LB Yasir Abdullah
  • OL Wyatt Milum
  • DL Danny Striggow
  • DL Khalen Saunders

Observations:

  • It was just too quick of a turnaround for Walker to be able to play. He may not have quite yet lived up to being the No. 1 overall pick in 2022, but he has developed into a very solid player and will be missed by Jacksonville’s defense in this matchup.
  • Saunders, who was acquired by the Jaguars during the preseason, won’t get to take on his former team. He played for the Chiefs from 2019-2022.
