The Kansas City Chiefs are shaking up the bottom of their 90-man offseason roster with just eight days to go until 53-man roster cuts.

A source tells A to Z Sports that the Kansas City Chiefs have waived WR Kekoa Crawford, who originally signed with the team back in June following tryouts at both rookie minicamp and mandatory minicamp.

Crawford made a standout touchdown grab in preseason Week 1, but he was mysteriously absent from practice during the final two days of training camp out in St. Joseph, Missouri. It's possible that he was waived with an injury designation, but the team never officially confirmed the reason for his absence. He did not play during preseason Week 2.

In a corresponding roster move, the Chiefs have signed former XFL standout Juwan Green, who played for the Seattle Sea Dragons this last season. In 10 games played, Green recorded 29 receptions on 44 targets for 420 yards and six touchdown grabs. His 14.5 yards per reception were third-most by an XFL player with over 25 receptions and his six touchdowns tied for second-most in the league last season.

An undrafted free agent out of Albany in 2020, this 6-foot and 187-pound wideout spent time with the Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, and Tennessee Titans before ultimately catching on in the XFL. With Nikko Remigio still dealing with injury and several depth wide receivers standing out during the preseason, it makes sense to reinforce the bottom of the roster in Kansas City.

Update: It was, in fact, a waived-injured designation for Crawford.
