The Kansas City Chiefs could be in for a real treat heading into the 2023 season.

The Kansas City Chiefs whiffed on a wide receiver one this past offseason. Do they still need one? It wouldn't hurt. But they are going to be fine without one.

However, the latest NFL news definitely favors the Chiefs heading into the 2023 season when it comes to the DeAndre Hopkins sweepstakes – the All-Pro receiver everyone is currently trying to get.

Per Jeremy Fowler, an ESPN insider, the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs are currently in an "arms race" for Hopkins. They are the two teams with the best chances to land him, the only thing standing in both of their ways is the money.

However, this is still great news for the Chiefs. If Hopkins is willing to sacrifice a bit to have a chance at a ring for a season, he may do it. But, it is a bad thing that the Bills are the other front-runner considering they already have a lethal receiving corps.

The Bills are one of the Chiefs' biggest rivals and one of their toughest competitions year in and year out, so getting Hopkins would hurt the Chiefs in that aspect.

This is definitely a situation to monitor as we get closer to camp. Hopkins could be signing a deal any day now as he just hired an agent on Tuesday.
