Kansas City Chiefs PR head Ted Crews provided an injury update to start Thursday's media availability.

Both LB Nick Bolton (ankle) and TE Noah Gray (ill) will miss practice for the second consecutive day on Thursday. They were joined by CB Jaylen Watson (shoulder) who was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, but he was listed on the injury report. It's unclear if this injury was something aggravated during the game or the practice week, but it'll be worth monitoring.

With Bolton missing a second practice this week, it looks likelier that he's trending toward missing his second consecutive game. That'd mean another week of the green dot for LB Drue Tranquill, who did mention that calling signals on the road is much easier at home, given the level of crowd noise when the defense is on the field.

Check back later for the full injury report from Thursday's practice:

Observations:

  • Status quo for Toney and Jones. I'm told they're just being cautious with those two players and the injuries shouldn't keep them out of the game unless something unforeseen were to happen.
  • Jaylen Watson wasn't the only one downgraded. Donovan Smith was listed as a limited participant in practice with a rib injury. That's concerning given the fact that Prince Tega Wanogho is now on injured reserve. We might be seeing Lucas Niang or Wanya Morris sooner than later (see below).
