Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid provided his typical pre-practice injury update to kick the practice week off on Wednesday.
He started off by explaining that two players would miss practice to start the week. One missed the Week 3 game against the Chicago Bears and the other was a new absence due to an illness.
"As far as injuries go, Noah (Gray) is not injured, but he's sick," Reid said. "Then (Nick) Bolton is still recovering from the ankle sprain. Other than that, everybody else will practice."
Prince Tega Wanogho goes to IR
The Chiefs placed OT Prince Tega Wanogho on injured reserve after he suffered a quad injury while chasing down an interception in the Week 3 game against the Bears. Reid confirmed that the injury is significant.
"We put Prince (Tega Wanogho) down (on injured reserve) because of a quad tear," Reid said. "Yeah, quad tear."
Reid wouldn't clarify a timeline for the backup offensive tackle. He'll miss a minimum of four weeks with his placement on injured reserve, but it's not yet clear if this could be a season-ending injury.
"We'll see," Reid said. "You guys are asking me to predict the future on these things. I don't know that. We'll just see how it goes."
As for who will fill in at the backup offensive tackle spot, the team will use the practice week to determine how to move forward with Lucas Niang and Wanya Morris vying for the role.
"We're working on that, right now," Reid said. "We'll get all that. We're working through it."
Kadarius Toney update:
One brief update came regarding WR Kadarius Toney, who only played a handful of snaps in Week 3. It seems like they didn't want to risk reinjury of his toe during a blowout win.
"I just didn't want to push the toe thing," Reid said of Toney. "We started him off and then backed off of him. That thing had swollen up and we got the swelling down. I didn't want to end the game with it that way."
Hopefully, that swelling is under control now and will subside more moving forward.

Observations:
- A total of 14 players are listed on the Chiefs' injury report for Wednesday. Keep in mind, if a player receives any sort of treatment the team is required to place them on the injury report.
- Chris Jones has dealt with groin injuries in the past. He missed several games in 2019 and dealt with a groin injury again in 2020. This might explain his low snap count from Week 3 against the Bears.
- Patrick Mahomes is listed on the injury report with an ankle injury, but he participated in full during practice. This is the same ankle that he injured in the 2022-2023 postseason.
