The Kansas City Chiefs did not practice on Monday, but with the short week ahead of "Thursday Night Football" against the Denver Broncos, they released an injury report in estimation had they held a practice.

The big question heading into this game: How will Travis Kelce's ankle injury impact his status for Week 6?

We've heard multiple reports now that he avoided the dreaded high-ankle sprain and is only dealing with a lower ankle sprain. That suggests that he should be able to suit up and play on Thursday, but his estimated practice status gives some reason for concern.

On Travis Kelce's status:

If there is any player who could get away with missing practice all week and playing in Week 6, it's Kelce. That said, being a non-participant in Monday's estimated practice suggests there is at least some ankle swelling that could limit him or even keep him out of the game. It'll be worth monitoring his status as the week progresses. If he can get a limited practice in by Wednesday, his chances to play will be high.

Observations:

  • Nick Bolton and Matt Dickerson would still be limited on Monday's practice. I suspect that Bolton will return to full participation before the practice week is over.
  • Each of Mike Danna and Drue Tranquill suffered injuries in Week 5, but they both finished the game per Andy Reid. If the team held a practice on Monday, they would have participated in full.
  • George Karlaftis would have been limited by a hamstring injury today. That's one to watch with the Chiefs being rather light on EDGE depth.
