The Kansas City Chiefs just made a move before the November 1 trade deadline. We knew it would get crazy, but this move really shakes things up.

The Chiefs traded for former Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney. The New York Giants will receive the Chiefs 2023 third round and a conditional 2023 sixth round pick.

They didn’t really need another receiver, especially one like Toney, but hey, why not. This gives them even more fire power, and they can potentially solve their punt returner problem now.

Rookie receiver Skyy Moore has been returning punts so far this year, but as we have seen, he hasn’t been great. He has muffed more than two punts this year, and lost two, giving the other team very good field position.

Had the defense not got an interception last game against the 49ers, that game could have gotten out of hand the wrong way because of a muffed punt.

The Chiefs currently have the ninth lowest punt and kick return averages in the league, so, maybe Toney can help that’s. I’m not saying that is what he was brought in for, I’m just saying that it’s definitely something that could be done, and something that should be watched.

I would have liked to see the Chiefs trade for another pass rusher or some offensive lineman, or heck, maybe even some secondary help. But? If anyone knows what they are doing it’s general manager Brett Veach, who just got Toney for very cheap.
