The Kansas City Chiefs are great at turning position coaches into guys who can make a name for themselves in the league. It's part of the Andy Reid and Steve Spagnuolo experience.

Now, another could have the opportunity to do that.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the New York Giants have interviewed the Chiefs linebackers coach Brendan Daly for their defensive coordinator job.

Daly switched from DL coach to LB coach last year. Part of the reason he was willing to make the switch is because he wanted to be a defensive coordinator. This is the first time he's interviewed for a job as a coordinator.

Daly has won five Super Bowls between the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs. And one of his former players gave him some praise when this news came out. One guy that Chiefs fans happen to love.

Tyrann Mathieu, the former Chiefs safety, gave his opinion on the news:

It's time! What he did for the D line in 2019/2020 was critical, especially in the postseason! Now he has KC LB core playing extremely high & intelligent ball! He's ready!!

The Chiefs are lucky to have Daly, as he is a big reason the defense was as good as it is this season.
