Update: Sneed has officially rejoined the team in Las Vegas.
As the Kansas City Chiefs got things kicked off on opening night they were without one of their team captains and defensive stars.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Chiefs CB L'Jarius Sneed was not present for Super Bowl opening night due to personal reasons. He did not share much more in terms of detail only to add Sneed's absence was considered good news and not bad news.

Sneed was scheduled to join nine other teammates and Chiefs HC Andy Reid on the risers during opening night. He was replaced by his running mate in the secondary, Trent McDuffie.
Some fan sleuthing has revealed that Sneed is absent for the birth of his child.
Thankfully, Sneed wasn't the player who got mauled by a coyote. Expect him to rejoin the team soon and play in Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers.
