Less than 24 hours ahead of their Week 16 matchup against the Houston Texans, the Kansas City Chiefs have made several roster moves.
The most impactful move was activating wide receiver Hollywood Brown from injured reserve, who will make his season debut on Saturday after suffering a sternoclavicular joint injury during Week 1 of the preseason. Brown has worked hard to get back for the stretch run, and the Chiefs' offense sorely needs him.
With quarterback Patrick Mahomes nursing a high ankle sprain, it will be good for him to have another weapon to work with. Also on the offensive side of the ball, the Chiefs have placed rookie tight end Baylor Cupp on the practice squad injured list. Cupp made his regular-season debut in the Chiefs' Week 14 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Replacing him will be Anthony Firkser, who the Chiefs signed back in early November. Firkser has appeared in two regular season games with Kansas City this season, but has yet to recorded a reception on 16 offensive snaps. He will play special teams and provide depth at tight end as an extra blocker.
Lastly, the Chiefs also elevated veteran safety Deon Bush to the active 53-man roster. Bush has yet to appear in a regular season game for K.C. this season, but has played in 22 regular season games with the team since 2022. With Chamarri Conner set to miss this week with a concussion, the Chiefs needed an extra defensive back. Bush will play special teams and probably see a handful of snaps defensively.
