The Kansas City Chiefs recently made a move that we haven't seen them make in quite some time. They promoted quarterbacks coach Matt Nagy to offensive coordinator. Some fans don't like the move, which is weird, to be honest.

Nagy was the offensive coordinator in 2017 when the Chiefs had Alex Smith. They finished seventh in points per game at 25.6 and Smith finished with the highest QBR that season along with the lowest turnover rate.

Now he has been a head coach, made the playoffs, and some, and is back even more experienced. Plus, it's still Andy Reid calling the plays.

A lot of coaches around the league have faith in Nagy though. Some think he is perfect for the job, including the New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll.

"I don't know, Matt, you know, on a deep level, just throughout the coaching circle, and have a tremendous amount of respect for him, you know what he did at Chicago," Daboll said. "Obviously, you know, when a head coach like Andy Reid brings you back onto the staff, he knows you can add a lot of value and, you know, he's a good football coach for a good football team. I know that firsthand, after a few years ago playing him on consecutive playoff games going."

Daboll won the Coach of the Year Award for the New York Giants and hired Mike Kafka from the Chiefs last season to be their offensive coordinator. If he knows anything about the job as a guy who led elite offenses in Buffalo, then he knows Nagy will be good for the job.

The Chiefs have had so much success over the last five years that the change likely won't hurt them. Andy Reid knows what he is doing, and I think we should all not only trust him by now but know that as well.
