The Kansas City Chiefs encountered a few problems during Thursday's practice as they were getting ready to prepare for the Washington Commanders.
As you can see, that problem just so happens to be injuries. It looks like it may be nothing serious, but this is never something you want to see.
Defensive tackle Chris Jones was out today with a sore back, which honestly does not sound good. A sore back can linger, especially when you do the things Jones does on a daily basis. Then you have to factor in how big Jones is, and none of this sounds great. However, right now it seems like it’s nothing to worry about, but could be in the future.
Backup running back Jerick McKinnon also missed Thursdays practice with a hamstring issue. The hamstring is another injury that can kind of linger. It’s one that is also very important with the position McKinnon plays, and running backs tend to have this injury quite often. It’s definitely something that will need to be monitored by the team, but they probably already knew that.
On Thursday, there was some what of a scary scene as wide receiver Mecole Hardman was carted off the field. The latest report is that the team is monitoring what seems to be a groin injury.
The young receiver landed awkwardly on his left leg during a red zone period. Head coach Andy Reid says he’s optimistic it isn’t serious.
The Chiefs are obviously hoping none of these injuries linger, but the problem is all three easily can. But, as long as these problems stay confined to more of problems for just today and they stay out of the regular season, then there's obviously very little reason to worry.
The only problem with that is we won't know if that's the case until that's the case.
