There are plenty of underrated players across the NFL, but the Kansas City Chiefs might truly have one of the most underrated players in the league on their roster.

Pro Football Focus recently named the most underrated player on each NFL team.

And they went with a former sixth-round draft pick for the Chiefs.

PFF feels like offensive guard Trey Smith is the most underrated player on Kansas City's roster.

From PFF: Tough to find an “underrated” player on the most prolific offense in football, but Smith fits the mold. The second-year player out of Tennessee followed up 1,404 snaps with a 72.7 overall grade as a rookie with a 72.3 overall grade across 1,230 snaps in Year 2. Smith ranked 11th out of 60 guards who saw at least 600 snaps last season in overall grade and was one of just eight guards to have at least a 65.0 pass-blocking grade (68.4) and at least a 70.0 run-blocking grade (70.8).

Smith, a former Tennessee Vols standout, was selected by the Chiefs in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

The former five-star recruit has always been a first-round talent. He only fell to the sixth round because of health concerns. Smith dealt with blood clots in his lungs during his time at Tennessee, which forced him to miss five games during his sophomore season in 2018. He returned to start every game in 2019 and 2020 at Tennessee.

So far, Smith hasn't had any serious health issues in the NFL. And the Chiefs look brilliant for picking up a first-round talent in the sixth round, while the rest of the NFL looks silly for passing on the Jackson, TN native.
