The Kansas City Chiefs have been setting record the last few years, but this time they set a world record that we didn't even know about.
The Chiefs have been the most successful team in the league the last five years, and I don't particularly think it's close. I mean, let's go through it all. They have won two Super bowl in three appearances in just four years, and have five AFC Championship appearances.
No other team has gotten even remotely close to that. The Chiefs are also setting records, as they have done a few times. It seems like every game Patrick Mahomes is breaking or setting new records. Well, the Chiefs have just done that, and we didn't even know it.
What I mean by we didn't know, is that the research had to be re-done. When the research came out the first time, it didn't favor the Chiefs. After the research had been re-done, it appeared the Chiefs were part of breaking a record.
This last Super Bowl win was a huge one for Chiefs fans, and maybe at the same level as the win in 2019. The media and other fans doubted the Chiefs before the season started, saying they wouldn't even make the playoffs because they lost Tyreek Hill.
But, of course, they made the playoffs and won it all, and the Super Bowl against the Eagles was one of the best ever, and the numbers don't lie.
When the numbers came out on the Super Bowl and how much people watched, the first time around wasn't great. There were people comparing other smaller shows or sports games that had a larger viewing. But then, they re-did their research.
According to Front Office Sports, "Fox Sports has discovered that Super Bowl LVII was the most-watched of all time after all — averaging 115.1 million viewers. Nielsen is issuing the new record number after a review revealed irregularities."
It's good to get the numbers back and find out that the Chiefs are must-watch TV, just like we all knew. If they are in a big game, people are going to tune in. That's what happens when you win two Super Bowls and you have Patrick Mahomes as your quarterback.
But, why not see if they can break that record this year? And hey, a repeat champion doesn't sound too bad.
