The Kansas City Chiefs could lose a couple of their wide receivers this offseason.

JuJu Smith-Schuster, who signed a one-year deal with Kansas City before the start of the 2022 season, is coming off a solid year with the Chiefs that could drive his value up in free agency this offseason.

Kansas City is interested in bringing Smith-Schuster back in 2023, but he might have priced himself out of returning to the Chiefs.

KC might release Marquez Valdes-Scantling this offseason, too.

Valdes-Scantling had a decent year for the Chiefs, catching 42 passes for 687 yards. But Kansas City could save $7 million in cap space by moving on from him.

According to NBC Sports Edge's Matthew Berry, the Chiefs are showing interest in Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard.

"They like Allen Lazard and are looking at him," noted Berry this week

Lazard, who is a free agent after spending the last five seasons with the Packers, is coming off the best season of his career.

The former Iowa State wide receiver caught 60 passes for 788 yards and six touchdowns in 2022.

Lazard is a smart veteran who excels as a blocker. He does a lot of the little things that don't show up in the box score (there's a reason why Aaron Rodgers likes him so much).

Signing Lazard wouldn't be a "splash" addition, but he'd certainly be a nice player for the Chiefs to have.

It's still possible, however, that Lazard returns to Green Bay — especially if Rodgers plays for the Packers in 2023.

I'd expect the Chiefs to also have interest in several other wide receivers when free agency begins next week.
