The Kansas City Chiefs, whether outside fans want to admit it or not, went into the 2022 season with everyone doubting them. There was a narrative that with the loss of Tyreek Hill, the offense would go down and the Chiefs would lose more than usual. The Chiefs led the league in points per game last year.

There are takes out there by national media members saying the Chiefs wouldn't win the AFC West, and some even said they wouldn't make the playoffs. I'm looking at you, Bart Scott.

Much of the predictions on who would win the AFC West came in as the Las Vegas Raiders or the Denver Broncos. The Raiders added Davante Adams and Chandler Jones last season while the Broncos added Russell Wilson and a new coaching staff.

Then the Chiefs went 6-0 against the AFC West. Oh, and they made the playoffs. Oh, and they won the entire AFC. Oh, and they won the Super Bowl.

Okay, I'm done being petty.

But you know who else was petty about it, and it's someone you wouldn't have thought. George Kittle defended the Chiefs and mocked that narrative, and it was great.

"The Raiders were going to win the AFC West, they were supposed to last year, right? Them and Denver," Kittle said on the Bussin with the Boys podcast. "Yeah, it didn't go very well. No, I just don't think anyone's gonna beat Patrick and Travis."

Now, granted, Kittle also said that he thinks the San Francisco 49ers would have beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, but everyone gets to say one silly thing a day.

But even Kittle knows why the Chiefs will run the AFC West again next year. No one can beat Mahomes and Kelce. It's that simple. I mean, he did see it firsthand in Week 7 when the Chiefs beat them 43-22 in Levi Stadium.

But Kittle is right. Until we see good evidence that the other teams can beat the Chiefs, then there is no other answer, and that's how it should be, especially going into a season when the Chiefs will be trying to repeat.
