The Chiefs had some serious roster turnover this off-season.

They lost quite a few players to new teams. Players such as Andrew Wyllie, Juan Thornhill, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Orlando Brown and Mecole Hardman will all be wearing new team jerseys next season.

They also released defensive end Frank Clark in a salary cap dump that freed up $21 million of cap space.

Like all teams, the Chiefs didn't just lose talent, they also dipped their toes into the outside free agent market to get new help. They did their best to replace Frank Clark by signing Charles Omenihu. They are also attempting to replace Orlando Brown Jr. by bringing in Jawaan Taylor.

Both of these players made PFF Salary Cap Analyst, Brad Spielberger's favorite and least favorite moves.

Favorite: Adding edge defender Charles Omenihu

Omenihu is one of the more intriguing, young inside-outside pass-rushers. At 6-foot-5 and 280 pounds, he took a leap once landing with the San Francisco 49ers at the 2021 trade deadline. The former fifth-round pick of the Houston Texans earned a 75.3 pass-rush grade with 54 quarterback pressures on a 13% pressure rate in 2022.

Adding a young Omenihu, who is coming off one of the better years in his career. Gives the Chiefs a resurgence of youth in their defensive line and brings some untapped potential as a player.
