One NFL executive isn't helping Chris Jones get his contract extension as he sent some disrespect toward the Chiefs' All-Pro.

The Chiefs had the best defensive tackle in the league last season, yet Chris Jones is still getting disrespected. Aaron Donald didn't have his best season, as he dealt with injuries and was on a bad team. That opened up a space for Jones to sweep in as the best at the position, as he had a career season.

Recently, one NFL executive spoke to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, who ranked the best defensive tackles in the league, and what the executive said about Jones was astounding. Fowler wrote:

Jones entered a new stratosphere after a monster 15.5-sack season. He's firmly in Tier 1 now, receiving several No. 1 votes. "One-on-one matchups, he has a natural answer for everything," said an AFC exec who voted Jones No. 1. "Wrecked our games." He led all defensive tackles with a 22% pass rush win rate last season, the first time someone not named Donald has led all tackles since 2017. The PRWR gap between Jones and the No. 2 (Javon Hargrave) was roughly the same as the gap between second and 10th (Grady Jarrett). Another AFC exec saw things differently, saying others are "more consistent and dominant" than Jones. "I think a lot of his production is inflated," the exec said. "And he's not always consistent against the run." – ESPN

Last year there wasn't a defensive tackle more consistent than Jones. The fact that the executive said his production is inflated is outrageous. This guy put up the best numbers of his career and did so in a year when the Chiefs needed him most. He consistently took on double teams yet still walked away with nearly 16 sacks.

Comments like these don't help Jones' situation. He is currently in extension talks with the Chiefs and is expected to become a top-three paid defensive tackle in the league, possibly number two behind Donald. The Chiefs, and Jones included, have reached a level where even the executives start hating on them.
