Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice officially won’t miss time at the start of the 2026 NFL season after a recent NFL investigation into a potential violation of the league’s personal conduct policy.

As first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the NFL concluded on Friday, March 3, that Chiefs WR Rashee Rice, “has not engaged in conduct that violates the personal conduct policy.” This comes after the league opened an investigation into allegations of abuse and domestic violence from Rice’s former girlfriend, which surfaced online on Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who shares two children with Rice, accused Rice of physical abuse, destruction of property, and more in a now-deleted Instagram post. The Chiefs and the NFL acknowledged the allegations, prompting the league to open an investigation. Jones filed a civil lawsuit against Rice stemming from those allegations.

The NFL released a statement claiming, “There was insufficient evidence to support a finding that [Rashee Rice] violated the personal conduct policy.”

Chiefs WR Rashee Rice will not face suspension from the NFL for the latest accusations

As things currently stand, Rice will not face any discipline from the NFL as a result of the investigation. New details could always come to light, but the league has closed its investigation at this time. Rice was suspended at the start of the 2026 NFL season for six games for his involvement in a car crash in the Dallas, Texas area during the 2024 NFL offseason.

The league officially reinstated Rice from suspension in Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season. He was placed on injured reserve ahead of the team’s Week 17 game against the Denver Broncos due to a concussion. Since entering the league as a second-round draft pick out of SMU in 2023, Rice has 156 receptions for 1,797 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. He’s played in 28 career games.

“Mr. Rice wants to thank the NFL for their thorough investigation, and looks forward to the start of the 2026-27 NFL season.”

Hopefully, this marks the beginning of the end of Rice’s off-field issues. He needs to turn over a new leaf during the 2026 NFL season. He’s entering the final year of his rookie contract and has quite a bit to prove. He needs to stay healthy and stay out of trouble. It’s not just about proving it to the Chiefs, either. He also must prove it to the rest of the NFL and the outside world.
