Updated list of Kansas City Chiefs’ 2026 NFL Draft picks after the league officially awarded compensatory picks
The full and official 2026 NFL Draft order has been revealed.
The NFL has officially released its full 2026 NFL Draft order.
This comes following Monday’s announcement, which awarded 15 clubs 33 compensatory picks, including one comp pick to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs officially hold nine picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, between the Trent McDuffie trade and landing a compensatory pick.
The Chiefs do not own their sixth-round pick, which was sent to the New England Patriots as part of the Josh Uche trade in 2024. We now also have confirmation that they don’t own their seventh-round draft pick, which was included in the Peyton Hendershot trade as a conditional pick. When Kansas City released Hendershot, it did not subvert the thresholds needed for the pick to transfer to Dallas.
Keep in mind that the McDuffie trade picks from the Rams cannot officially transfer to the Chiefs until March 11.

Latest Facts and Stats about the 2026 NFL Draft
- It’ll be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from April 23–25, 2026.
- The 2026 NFL Draft is the 91st annual event.
- The time for first-round draft selections has been reduced from 10 to 8 minutes.
A few notes on some of these picks as it relates to some AFC rivals:
- The Chiefs pick ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals at No. 9 and No. 40.
- Pick No. 29 falls right before the Denver Broncos’ first round draft choice at pick No. 30, but it also falls right after the Houston Texans’ choice at pick No. 28.
Assuming the Chiefs hang onto both of their first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, this will mark the second time that Brett Veach has had two first-round picks in a single draft class. The last time they had two first-round picks was the 2022 NFL Draft, following the Tyreek Hill trade. They selected Washington CB Trent McDuffie at pick No. 21 and Purdue DE George Karlaftis at pick No. 30. That year also marked the most selections in a single draft class by Veach (10). If the Chiefs were to trade down and collect more picks, they could exceed that mark in the 2026 NFL Draft.
After just a few big moves during the first wave of free agency, the Chiefs’ draft needs have changed substantially, and they still might not be done making moves. They still have a few glaring needs to fill as they build out their roster for the 2026 NFL season and beyond.
