The offseason hype train for second-year Kansas City Chiefs WR Nikko Remigio is full steam ahead.

First, it was Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy raving about the 2023 undrafted free agent out of Fresno State. This time, it's newcomer backup QB Carson Wentz, who has got to know Remigio well both on and off the football field.

Like Nagy, Wentz has been thrilled with how consistent Remigio has remained throughout OTAs. With other players in and out of practice, Remigio has constantly been there and he's always doing one thing that catches the attention of Wentz.

"Oh, yeah, he runs all day, I can tell you that," Wentz said of Remigio. "He's been fun to get to know, a little bit, and on the field as well. And yeah, he looks really good out there. He's fast, and he uncovers well versus man coverage. Like I said, he can run all day long. You know, we have days out there, where we're down some receivers with this, that, and the other, and Nikko is just out there running all day long. So, a lot of respect for what he's done out there so far."

A shoulder injury derailed the 2023 NFL season for Remigio, but it's not slowing him down any longer. He's already making contributions in practices reminiscent of the 4-of-6 for 71 receiving yards performance he had against the New Orleans Saints in Week 1 of the 2023 preseason

He boasted a strong connection with star QB Patrick Mahomes in last week's practice that was open to media members. That continued again on Friday, with Remigio catching practically every pass that came his way during team drills. That includes a handful of repetitions with the first-team offense and Mahomes, as well as repetitions with Wentz and the second-team offense.

It'll be interesting to see where Remigio falls in the practice repetitions during mandatory minicamp, especially if Xavier Worthy returns to the field and now that Mecole Hardman is back in the fold. Many seem to expect that Remigio's 53-man roster chances have diminished, but so long as remains consistent, he'll have as good of a shot as any to make it through final roster cuts.
