On Thursday, the Kansas City Chiefs are playing their last preseason game of the year against the Green Bay Packers. That means we are so close to real football. However, there are still some things that need to be handled.

The Chiefs have roster decisions to make come Tuesday, where they then have to cut the roster from 80 players, to 53. There will be guys playing for their careers, so we should get some fun football in this game.

Here are three guys on defense that can have a good game, but you wouldn’t really expect it. With it being the preseason, these are guys that don’t necessarily stand out, but the game script could easily go their way on Thursday.

LB Leo Chenal

In my opinion, I think Chenal has made his case already for a 53-man roster spot. He's a freak. When I say that, just think of it like this, Chenal loves to hit other people and loves to get hit back.

I want to see him do some things in coverage. We know he can stop the run, that's a given. But now, I want to see how well he has improved in the coverage game since joining the NFL. Either way, Chenal should have a stellar game, barring any injuries of course.

I think we will see Chenal play a lot and he should have a good game, as a result.

CB Jaylen Watson

Watson showed some stuff against the Commanders that I think most of us liked, in terms of sticking with the defenders he did cover, and not letting them get any separation off of the top of their routes, for the most part that is.. He wasn't really unleashed though, as he didn't play as many snaps as we would have liked. Look for the Chiefs to play some of their young guys that may not get a lot of run in the regular season, and look for Watson to be locking up the opposing teams' receivers.

Watson has shown great man-to-man skills so far, along with being able to track the ball while it's in the air. He isn't quite good enough to start yet, but look for him to have a good game against the Packers' backup players.

DE Joshua Kaindoh

Kaindoh has potential. That is why the Chiefs picked him in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Kaindoh has the size at 6-foot-6, 260-pounds, and the ability to be a game wrecker. He just has to put it all together. Against the Commanders, Kaindoh finished with three tackles and two pass deflections. He played really well, and I think he could do the same against the Packers Thursday night. Especially when considering the rotating pieces that are currently on the Packers offensive line. Not to mention, there isn't a whole lot of film, if any, on Kaindoh for the Packers defenders to go off of, so they could have trouble blocking him.
