How Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is incentivizing teammates to stay focused while in Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII

Las Vegas, Nevada earned its "Sin City" nickname in the 1930s for its illicit activities, including gambling, prostitution, alcohol, and mob-related crime. Nowadays the debauchery of Vegas is glamorized by films like "The Hangover" where a group of friends travels for a bachelor party only to lose the groom and wake up with no recollection of the night before.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes even evoked the film to declare he and the team were going to Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII after the team's AFC Championship Game win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Las Vegas is typically characterized by fun activities and over-indulgence, but the Chiefs are there for a very specific reason, that's to beat the 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. Admittedly with all of the media obligations it's already a week filled with distractions, but in "Sin City" there are also other distractions that millionaire athletes could fall prey to.

Mahomes is making sure that his teammates don't fall into that trap during Super Bowl week.

"This is a business trip," he said, via NFL Network's James Palmer. "I told the guys if we win, I'll bring everyone back to Vegas to celebrate."

Mahomes isn't joking either. He and many of his teammates partied in Las Vegas after their Super Bowl LVII win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Winning the Lombardi Trophy should be plenty of motivation for all of the Chiefs, but the extra incentive from Mahomes certainly doesn't hurt their cause. The last thing someone wants to do is to get on Mahomes' bad side.
