The Kansas City Chiefs have now clinched the number one seed in the AFC playoffs, which means they will have home-field advantage for every game unless they play the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game. If that were to happen, it would be held at a neutral site.

So, this win was very important, to say the least. For the last four years, the AFC Championship has run through Arrowhead Stadium, even if the Chiefs didn't win it all four years.

But now, they get a break and a week off no matter what, which will only help this team even more, the biggest reason why the first seed was so important.

"I mean it's important given that bye, it's like winning a playoff game," Patrick Mahomes said after the game during an ESPN interview.

"And so, now we have to focus on watching this next one tomorrow, then this next week, seeing who we play and come up with our best ball."

The Kansas City Chiefs may be 14-3 now, but they haven't been playing their best ball outside of this last game. There have been a few games against bad opponents where they barely scraped by, like the Texans and Broncos, with Denver happening twice.

This bye will help with that. What do we know about Andy Reid? Well, he almost never loses the game after a bye week. Why? Because he has so long to prepare for one game, this bye week will be somewhat the same.

The Chiefs also haven't been their healthiest as Mecole Hardman and some other key players have missed some time. I mean even Frank Clark left the game early on Saturday with an injury.

This bye week will help with that as well.

This is everything the Chiefs wanted heading into the playoffs, and it was so important they get it, and they did.
