The Kansas City Chiefs are known for, among the fans and media, as a team that only plays weird games. They don't really ever just blow another team out of the water without something weird happening.
Now, they weren't expected to blow the Jacksonville Jaguars out of the water, as they were only favored by 3.5 points on the road. However, the offense was expected to do a little more than it did.
Instead, the Chiefs played a "weird game" this time; it just ended up being one they won, rather than the opposite like the week before. This time, though, they had Travis Kelce and Chris Jones.
Nonetheless, a win is a win, even though it was a bit sloppy. The Chiefs were still able to get their superstar quarterback exactly what he needed for his 28th birthday. It's about what he did the rest of the day for his special day.
"Yeah, I'll just hang out with the guys, man. We will have a nice flight home," Mahomes said in his on-field post-game interview on the CBS broadcast. "Luckily, we're flying back with the win; then we're getting right back at it, man. The season just keeps rolling, and it was good enough just to get the win for me."
The Chiefs and Mahomes have a lot to fix on offense. It was shaky, undisciplined, and you could say many other things. The receiver problem didn't improve, considering the Chiefs scored fewer points.
However, we learned a few things from the game, as with every game. Maybe the Chiefs will apply those things this week as they prepare to get ready for the Chicago Bears.
