Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and Coors Light continue to find unique ways for him to promote their brand without him technically promoting their brand.

It's no secret that Mahomes is a Coors Light fan. You've probably seen him putting back a few during golf tournaments and Super Bowl parades over the past several years. You might have seen the custom Coors Light bottles at his wedding. You've also probably seen his several brand promotions like "The Coors Bear",  "The Coors Light"  limited edition flashlight, and his "Coors Dad Bod" t-shirts

What you haven't seen is something where he actually directly promotes Coors Light beer. That's because the NFL prohibits its active players from their likenesses being used to promote beers, spirits, and so on. Now, Mahomes and Coors Light are making fun of the fact that he can't appear in commercials promoting the beer. They're burying the ad in a Time Capsule, and maybe if the NFL ever changes its policy on the rules, they'll dig it up and show it.

“Everyone knows I’m a Coors Light guy, and this summer we were cooking up something special,” Mahomes said, via press release. “Unfortunately, you’ll have to stay tuned until the day that we can finally share it with the world.”

It's not just a gag either. They appear to have filmed a commercial and Coors Light intends to host a live event to bury it in a time capsule on their YouTube channel this upcoming Friday, June 28, at 10:00 a.m. CT. When they'll dig that time capsule up and show it remains to be seen.

That's not all, though. Coors Light also released a limited edition "Redactrick" figurine that you can purchase for $75 at shop.coorslight.com. It also makes fun of the fact that Mahomes can't appear in their commercials by blurring its face. All proceeds go to the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation.
