The Kansas City Chiefs, as we have stated so many times in the Patrick Mahomes era, only play weird games; they almost never blow out opponents. The Chicago Bears game was obviously different, but the Chiefs are always good for at least one blowout.
Now, expect the rest of the games this season to be close, weird ones. This Sunday Night Football game against the New York Jets was definitely supposed to be one that saw the Chiefs winning big time, but it wasn't.
The Chiefs won and got the job done, but it wasn't easy at all. Overall, it was a very odd game. However, those games are sometimes needed because they show that your team has a fight.
"It's always good when you find ways to win. I think I have learned in my six or seven years you can win pretty, but you have to win ugly, too, to win Super Bowls," Patrick Mahomes said after the game.
"Even though I hate it, I feel like it makes you better in the end if you win games like this. We did that last year, and we will try to do that again this year, and then try to keep getting better so we are playing our best football at the end of the season."
That first part, about winning Super Bowls, is something that really only he understands in the league right now. He is the only quarterback in the league that has won two Super Bowls as a starter. He knows what it takes to win a Super Bowl, and part of that is winning tough games.
Should fans be upset that things didn't go as they should? Sure. However, there is a positive in a win like what the Chiefs did. They showed they can fight back, the defense can hold up when it's supposed to, and when the going gets tough, it doesn't matter because Mahomes will make the right choices in the game's final minutes.
Chiefs escape win over Jets without any major injuries
The Kansas City Chiefs only had one injury of note to report after the Week 4 win over the New York Jets.
