Chiefs Playoff Picture: Kansas City can flip the script after the bye week with latest NFL Week 10 results
The Kansas City Chiefs have eight games left to make a push for the playoffs, and it all starts in Week 11 against the Denver Broncos.
The Kansas City Chiefs will soon be back on the grind following the Week 10 bye week, which comes after a disappointing Week 9 loss to the Bills. With a 5-4 record heading into Week 11, they’ve got a lot of work to do in the next eight weeks to get themselves back into playoff contention. The next two weeks are going to be critical to their chances to keep their hopes alive with two games against AFC opponents atop the playoff picture.
Chiefs’ remaining schedule after the bye week
- Week 11: @ Broncos
- Week 12: Colts
- Week 13: @ Cowboys
- Week 14: Texans
- Week 15: Chargers
- Week 16: @ Titans
- Week 17: Broncos
- Week 18: @ Raiders
It all starts with an AFC West divisional showdown against the Broncos in Week 11, with a whole lot on the line for Kansas City. Thankfully, they’ve had the bye week to self-scout, evaluate, and get this team back on the right track for the remainder of the 2025 NFL season.
NFL Week 10 results put the Chiefs in position to flip the script during the second half of the season
The results of the NFL Week 10 slate were promising, outside of the Chargers’ win over the Steelers on “Sunday Night Football” and the Broncos’ win over the Raiders on “Thursday Night Football.” The Dolphins’ 30-13 upset win over the Bills combined with the Texans’ win over the Jaguars set up the Chiefs to get things back on track on the road in Week 11 against the Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium.
AFC Playoff Picture heading into NFL Week 11
- Colts (8-2)
- Broncos (8-2)
- Patriots (8-2)
- Steelers (5-4)
- Chargers (7-3)
- Bills (6-3)
- Jaguars (5-4)
Right now, the Chiefs are in the hunt, but just outside of the playoff picture as the No. 8 seed in the AFC. Dropping what was a winnable game in Jacksonville is one the team will want back. However, a win in Denver could help Kansas City move up in the standings, provided it is paired with other favorable Week 11 results. The Bills will face a hungry Buccaneers team, and the Jags face off with the Chargers.
Ultimately, the Chiefs have to take care of business while hoping other teams fall short. It’s not an ideal situation, but that’s the reality of losing games in September and October. They have no time left to waste. A loss to the Broncos would drop their AFC West title odds to critical territory and deal a major blow to their playoff chances. A win, no matter the other results, keeps hope alive at the very least.
