Thanks to Tom Brady and his lengthy NFL career that spanned over two decades, there's a question that every elite quarterback is now being asked constantly.

"How long do you plan to play?"

Brady played until he was 45 years old. He won his seventh Super Bowl when he was 43.

And now, every quarterback on a Hall of Fame trajectory will be compared to Brady when it comes to longevity. Brady set the bar and he set it high.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who just won his second Super Bowl earlier this week, is only 27, but he's already getting asked about how long he plans to play in the NFL.

Mahomes appeared on ESPN after winning Super Bow LVII and he answered a question about how long he expects his NFL career to last.

"I don't know if I'll make it to 45 like Tom," said Mahomes. "I mean Tom could probably play until he's 55 if really wanted to. But I'm going to play as long as I'm playing at a high level. So we'll see where that is. We'll just keep playing, taking it year by year, and see where we're at when I get a little bit older."

That answer from Mahomes was basically him saying that the end of his career isn't even on his radar at the moment.

At the very least, you have to imagine that Mahomes has 10 years left in his career. That would put him at 37 when he retires. Elite quarterbacks tend to stick around a little longer, so I don't think it's out of the question that we could see Mahomes play until he's 40 years old.

That would be 13 more years. And at his current pace, as long as the Chiefs keep weapons around him, he could end up in Brady's neighborhood when it comes to Super Bowl rings (Mahomes needs to win five more to catch him).
