There will be a lot of stars out for Super Bowl LIX, including numerous musical guests. And the NFL announced yet another one on Wednesday.
This one will make Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce very happy.
Post Malone will be in New Orleans to headline YouTube's Tailgate Concert.
And for the Chiefs quarterback and tight end, they have a history with the singer.
During a GQ interview back in 2020, Mahomes revealed that just days after the Chiefs Super Bowl LIV parade, Post Malone was playing in town. They managed to get a suite and the singer even invited them to swing by before the show. During that time, Post Malone actually challenged the two Chiefs stars to a game of beer pong.
After over a dozen games, Post Malone was tired of losing and decided to up the ante. But, he ended up losing to the two athletes and was forced to get tattoos of their signatures.
What made this even better is he is a big Dallas Cowboys fan.
But, it's clear that he has a good relationship with Mahomes and Kelce. And actually, he was involved in their Super Bowl victory celebration in Las Vegas last year.
He performed an incredible rendition of 'America the Beautiful' before the start of Super Bowl LVIII and then went up to watch the game. After the Bud Light commercial premiered in which he was a star in, the camera cut to Malone. And he was repping the Cowboys proudly in a bright blue jacket.
It didn't matter that it was the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers playing. He wanted to make sure that nobody confused what team he was rooting for.
However, later in the night, it seems he put his fandom to the side. And for some Cowboys fans, they might feel a little betrayed.
So he went over to the dark side with a little help from Brittany Mahomes.
The wife of Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes went up to Malone during the Super Bowl afterparty and seemed to strike a deal.
She helped Malone take off his Cowboys jacket and traded it in for a Chiefs jacket. Since they did just win the Super Bowl, it seems he was willing to do it.
But only for one song.
Malone put on a sour face when he put it on, just to show that he still loves his Cowboys in a fun moment. But the cheers from the crowd was enough to convince him to have some fun with it.
And he enjoyed the bit, with him and Brittany Mahomes sharing a hug afterwards.
So now, we'll just need to wait and see if we get another moment like this. And maybe there will even be another wager and tattoo in his future.
