Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn't taking things easy this offseason.
The reigning Super Bowl MVP is already putting in work, despite being in the middle of the offseason.
And he's putting in work with a quarterback that's hoping for a bounceback season in 2023.
Mahomes is putting in work this offseason — or at least this week — with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance.
Lance started the 2022 season as the 49ers' starting quarterback before suffering an ankle injury.
Brock Purdy eventually took over as the 49ers' starter, though he also suffered an injury, which puts his availability for the start of the 2023 season in question.
Lance will hope to win the job back this summer/fall. Working alongside Mahomes could certainly give him the edge he needs to emerge from training camp as the 49ers' starter.
And with San Francisco's tough defense maybe Mahomes and Lance will face off next February in the NFL's biggest game.
