The Kansas City Chiefs have had quite a bit of players in the news the last few years but for all of the wrong reasons. And, that's okay, people make mistakes, you live, you learn, and you move on. It's safe to say some of the players on the Chiefs that have made mistakes, have learned.

But, there are also some really good humans on this team as well. As Thanksgiving approaches and even Christmas, you will start to see some Chiefs players go out into their communities, whether it be back at home where they are from, or in Kansas City, and give back — not because they have to but because they want to. There are some really good humans on this team, and it's one of the things that makes Chiefs fans even more enamored with their football team.

I think that the player that is going to get a lot of love now and gain a lot of new fans, has to be Tershawn Wharton, who saved a kid's life on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Okay, maybe not his life, but who knows, the kid could have been paralyzed had Wharton not been there.

The kid, wearing a Nick Bolton jersey, called for Tershawn Wharton, who was walking to the tunnel. He fell over the guard rail, well where there should have been one, from the stands, falling down what looked to be a nearly nine-foot drop, maybe more, just for Wharton to sprint to him and catch him. The kid would have landed on his head.

"That was just a natural reaction. Usually, when I leave the game I try to throw my gloves in the crowd and I hear my name a little bit. When I heard my name I saw him coming down and I was lucky to catch him," Wharton said on the Pat McAfee Show.

What he did on Sunday was huge, not only for his team, as he played a key part on defense, but also for that kid and his family. I'm sure we will be seeing the two of them take a picture together sometime soon.

The Chiefs play the Las Vegas Raiders next in Black Friday, before playing the Los Angeles Chargers and Cleveland Browns.
