The Kansas City Chiefs are one of over two dozen NFL teams with a scouting presence at the Navy Pro Day at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Here are the players participating in the pro day workout, per Navy Football.

  • QB Blake Horvath
  • RB Alex Tecza
  • RB/WR Eli Heidenreich
  • WR Brandon Chatman
  • DT Landon Robinson
  • S Andrew Duhart
  • S Adam Walker
  • LB Jaxson Campbell
  • LB Luke Pirris
  • LB Kenneth McShan
  • K Nathan Kirkwood

This marks the first significant pro day stop for Kansas City as the circuit gears up over the next two and a half leading up to the 2026 NFL Draft. They’ll have their eyes on two prospects who could align with their draft plans as they look to build up their roster for the 2026 NFL season.

Chiefs could view Navy’s Eli Heidenreich as Chad O’Shea’s next Julian Edelman

Eli Heidenreich is considered a jack-of-all-trades prospect with snaps at running back, H-Back, and wide receiver at Navy over the past three seasons. However versatile he may be, the Chiefs could be looking at him as the next conversion project for new wide receivers coach Chad O’Shea. Rob Gronkowski infamously said that O’Shea is the one responsible for Julian Edelman’s career. Funny enough, Heidenreich actually compares favorably to Edelman as an athlete.

They’re both right around the same height and weight. Heidenreich ran a 4.4s 40-yard dash at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, which is faster than Edelman’s 4.52s 40-yard dash from 2009. Edelman hit slightly better marks in the broad jump (10’25”) and the vertical jump (36.5″). The kicker will be whether Heidenreich runs the agility drills at his pro day, which he skipped at the combine. Edelman had a 97th percentile short shuttle and a 95th percentile three-cone.

In the A to Z Sports NFL Athletic Composite, when comparing him to past receivers, Heidenreich is ranked alongside current Buffalo Bills WR Khalil Shakir and former Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones.

The production profile as a receiver is also something to get excited about here. Heidenreich had a career drop rate of 3% at Navy, catching 109 passes for 1,994 yards and 16 touchdowns over three seasons with the Midshipmen.

2026 NFL Scouting Combine snub Landon Robinson is another player on the Chiefs’ radar

Robinson was one of the most dominant players at the East-West Shrine Bowl and one of the biggest snubs from the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine roster. Why was he viewed as a snub? He came in 13th on Bruce Feldman’s annual “freaks” list this past year after posting these confirmed numbers: 700-pound squat, 465-pound bench press, a speed of 20.1 MPH, and a 33-inch vertical at 5-foot-11 and 291 pounds.

The feeling in Kansas City is that they really missed having a Tershawn Wharton-type interior defensive lineman during the 2025 NFL season. Robinson certainly fits that mold, as an undersized player who can overwhelm interior offensive linemen with quickness and power. In 2025, Robinson recorded a career-best season with 64 total tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery, earning American Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors.
