The Kansas City Chiefs had one of the best secondaries in the league the last few years, with depth and youth at every position, and a superstar in Trent McDuffie locking things down. This is the first year the Chiefs are without L'Jarius Sneed, as he was traded to the Tennessee Titans, and it feels like the secondary, particularly the cornerback room, has taken a hit this year.

Now, Sneed is missed, but it's not all on his absence as to why the Chiefs are struggling in that area. They have played poorly, and they have been dealt a bad hand with injuries, as has every team. But, somehow, the Chiefs are still undefeated. If they keep playing this way in the backend, though, that won't remain a feat only they can claim.

Injuries and poor play have to get better.

"You don't want any one position to get things like that," defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo said. "And that's as important a position as there is in football, my opinion. So, you know, the next guy's gotta step in there. Josh [Williams] did it last week. We'll see what Nazeeh is at the end of the week. You know, Keith Taylor has been, you know, he's another guy that we may have to get in there, and we gotta mix and match him somehow try to keep the other guys healthy because we can't afford another injury."

This is by far the biggest glaring concern that Chiefs fans have. If there is a reason this team doesn't win their third-straight Super Bowl, a lot of fans think this will be the reason why. And, that's a fair assessment.

But, I'm not sure this is something to really stress over as much as fans are. The Chiefs will make adjustments, the injuries will stop, hopefully, and better football will be played when it needs to be played, we see it every year.

We also have to think, the injuries were bound to come. When you talk about all of the postseason football this dynasty has played, it's probably close to a whole other season in terms of extra games. They are going to be beat down and wore out. But, the good thing is this is one of the best coaching staffs in the league, if not the best.

The Chiefs play the Denver Broncos on Sunday before they play the Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers and then the Las Vegas Raiders.
