Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is one of the most popular athletes on the planet these days.

The former Cincinnati Bearcats standout is Patrick Mahomes' top option in the passing game. Kelce's a future Hall of Famer who has two Super Bowl wins on his resumé to go along with an infectious personality that's endeared him to fans.

When you think of superstars, you likely picture someone like Kelce — a tough competitor who puts up big numbers on the biggest stages while providing viral moments along the day (got that, Jabroni?).

Kelce will take his superstardom to his home state later this week as he's set to throw out the first pitch at the Cleveland Guardians' home opener on Friday against the Seattle Mariners.

He'll be joined by his mother, Donna, in throwing out the first pitch.

Kelce was born in Westlake, OH and raised in nearby Cleveland Heights, a suburb of Cleveland. It goes without saying that he's a legend in Northeast Ohio (maybe that's part of the reason why Kelce and the Chiefs' rivalry with the Cincinnati Bengals is so intense).

Kelce shouldn't have any issues throwing out the first pitch. The Kansas City tight end was a standout baseball player before transitioning full-time to football.

In fact, a former Atlanta Braves scout told TMZ earlier this year that Kelce could've been an MLB player if he had chosen baseball over football.

Maybe we'll see some of those baseball skills on Friday afternoon when Kelce and his mother throw out the first pitch in Cleveland.
