Travis Kelce is the greatest tight end of all time. If you don’t believe that statement, he’s certainly the greatest tight end of this era. The Kansas City Chiefs have been lucky to have that every single year, as he’s been the biggest non-coach, non-Patrick Mahomes reason the Chiefs are as successful as they are.

But 2025 hasn’t been so kind to Kelce. Statistically, he’s been better than he has in a while. However, when you watch the games, you would know that Kelce leads the league in drops with eight, and that three of those drops led to interceptions. Each of those three has felt massive, too. Usually, when he’s in a slump, he finds a way out. So far, he hasn’t had a terrible game against the Houston Texans.

Kelce can’t find the answers in 2025 that he usually does

“Like, I have always had the answers in years past, and this year I just can’t find them,” Kelce said on the New Heights Podcast.

“I keep thinking if I show up to work and put in the work and fix the issues through my practice habits and through perfecting the game plan, my fundamentals and what I’m being taught, go out there and play my a** off for my guys next to me, it’s all going to come together like in years past. And, it’s just not man.”

The Chiefs as a whole are struggling, not just Kelce. This is a super weird year, where the roster on paper is more talented than last season’s – the luck isn’t in their favor like it was last season. Kelce isn’t the only one who can’t find answers to the troubles they are having.

This is the worst this team has played in the Mahomes era. Yet, this team somehow still has a shot at making the playoffs. If they did, they likely wouldn’t make it far, but you truly never know with a team that has Mahomes, Kelce, and Chris Jones. They play the Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Denver Broncos, and Las Vegas Raiders to close out the season.
