At halftime in Week 5 against the Minnesota Vikings, it looked like Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce was done for the day after suffering a non-contact lower-body injury

Kelce had other plans in mind.

The 34-year-old went into the locker room ahead of halftime to get X-rays on his foot, but he wasn't kept down for long. He emerged from the locker room with a heavily-taped ankle and was deemed questionable to return to the game with an ankle injury.

Kelce didn't immediately re-enter the game on the Chiefs' first drive, but he did try to sneak back on the field a few times. He was spotted doing high knees on the sideline, keeping himself warm for his opportunity to reenter the game.

When Kelce did finally re-enter the game, he had what the great Terez Paylor would refer to as an over-my-dead-body drive. Kelce looked like a man-possessed and caught 5 passes for 46 yards and a touchdown. All of that production came post-ankle injury. He even managed a catch that was challenged and burned one of the Vikings' remaining timeouts, which ended up being crucial.

Kelce looked no worse for wear and just as spry as he did in the first half. He's played through some ticky-tacky injuries throughout his NFL career, but this performance certainly takes the cake.

Kelce didn't end up touching the ball in the fourth quarter, but he made quite the impact in the third quarter when his team really needed it most. When the clock struck zero, the Chiefs had held off the Vikings and won the game 27-20.
