Injuries impacted the Kansas City Chiefs hard in 2024, but perhaps none more than when wide receiver Rashee Rice tore his LCL in Week 4.

Rice would miss the rest of the season, which piled on top of the loss of Hollywood Brown during the preseason, who didn't return until Week 16. Before going down, Rice was off to a scorching start to the year, on pace for over 100 receptions and well over 1,000 yards.

We'll never know what the Chiefs' offense would have looked like had he played the entire season, but what's done is done. Rice is working hard to get back on the field and be ready to go for 2025, as he displayed in a training video that he posted on his X account on Tuesday.

Yes, it's just a training video as he runs routes without anyone defending against him, but the important thing is how he's moving around. Rice appears to be running at full speed, especially at the end of the clip as he pulls in a deep pass. He also looks fluid running through cones, and his ability to stop and restart while running shifty routes looks sharp.

Last week Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes told the media that Rice was among the many teammates that he had down in Texas training with him, and that he didn't seem to have any limitations.

"The expectations are high," Mahomes said of Rice. "I mean, he looks really good. He's running routes. He's catching the football. I don't know when we get back into the actual OTAs, how much he'll be able to do, but he's been able to do everything here, as far as running routes and everything like that. And I know it was unfortunate how he got hurt last year, but it was so early in the season that he's going to get pretty much a complete offseason, which I think will be big going into this season."

The Chiefs drafted WR Jalen Royals in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, whose skillset is very similar to Rice's. If by chance Rice isn't quite ready to go full force during offseason OTAs, Royals will be a natural replacement for him. However, all signs are pointing toward Rice being ready to go. A healthy Rice paired with Royals, Brown, and Xavier Worthy could make for the best WR room Kansas City has had in a few years.
