Kansas City Chiefs rookie WR Xavier Worthy doesn't seem to have the same worries that others do about Brett Veach's decision to re-sign veteran WR Mecole Hardman

The decision to re-sign Hardman has been criticized, with one of the main points of contention being redundancy at the position. They say it doesn't raise the floor of the room because we already know what Hardman is and isn't.

They also say his size and speed are comparable to other players the team already has on the roster, such as Hollywood Brown, Nikko Remigio, Montrell Washington, and notably the team's first-round pick Worthy. The major fear in this situation seems to be that Hardman could leach opportunities from the talented speedster out of the University of Texas.

Shortly after the news about Hardman dropped on Thursday, Worthy took to his Instagram story to share his reaction with his followers throughout Chiefs Kingdom.

"Now we gotta have the fastest WR room," he wrote, followed by a few laugh-crying emojis and exclamation points.

Worthy is certainly onto something there.

Worthy broke the 40-yard dash record with a 4.21s run at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. Hollywood Brown previously ran a 4.27s 40-yard dash. Hardman adds a low-4.3s 40-yard dash to a wide receiver room that already had some speedy guys. A play with all three players on the field, along with Travis Kelce and Isiah Pacheco, could keep defensive coordinators up at night.

The Chiefs' wide receiver group was once referred to as the Legion of Zoom. Well, this wide receiver group might as well be the Legion of Zoom: Part II Electric Boogaloo. They've each got the speed to take the top off of an opposing defense at a moment's notice, which is super important when you consider the offseason focus in Kansas City has been a resurgence of the deep passing game. Adding Hardman to the mix at this juncture can only help toward that goal.

He also has a lot to offer a rookie like Worthy, having more than double the experience in the Chiefs' system than any other player on the roster. Worthy clearly recognizes Hardman's game and his reaction shows this could turn out to be good for the rookie in the long run. The two seem to be hitting it off just fine, as our friends at 810 WHB caught this interaction during practice:
