The Kansas City Chiefs really grinded out a win over the New York Giants on “Sunday Night Football,” which saw them find their groove offensively in the second half. Kansas City needed a win badly, and it got it over one of the worst teams in football. And after the game, the vibes were great as Chris Jones was talking a bit of trash.

He had previously told the broadcast that he had asked Giants QB Russell Wilson for a jersey swap a few times in the past, but had never gotten one. He was asked this time after the game if he got one with Wilson, and his response is the funniest thing that happened Sunday night.

“I don’t even want it,” Jones said postgame on the broadcast.

Well, I guess he’s waiting for a better player to ask.

Chris Jones looked like the Chris Jones of old

On Sunday, Jones got a sack, his first of the season, and according to him, his first one coming from the three-technique position in two years. And that’s kind of insane to think about. He lined up everywhere on Sunday and even had some good wins over Andrew Thomas, a pretty good left tackle.

It’s not that Jones has struggled over the last year, or whatever, but rather the fact that the stats weren’t showing up on the paper for several different reasons, mainly because he was being double-teamed nearly every play. That’s a big reason he is playing outside as much as he is.

On Sunday, Jones also had two QB hits on Wilson, who played a pretty bad game, so much so he got booed pretty badly by his own fan base there in New Jersey. The Chiefs needed a big game from Jones, and they got one, which only helped them secure a win that they desperately needed, as they face the Baltimore Ravens next week.
