Cleveland Guardians hilariously poke fun at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement announcement for upstaging team’s latest news
They couldn’t help themselves.
It’s one of the biggest days in the NFL as all 32 teams must get their rosters down to only 53 players after being allowed to have 90 on the roster throughout the summer.
But, it got even bigger when Taylor Swift announced that she and Travis Kelce are engaged, sharing numerous photos of the two on Instagram.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married ?,” Swift captioned the post, which included numerous photos of the two in a beautiful garden with flowers all around them.
It seems the NFL wasn’t the only league who’s big news day was interrupted by this incredible announcement.
The Cleveland Guardians, who happen to be Travis Kelce’s hometown team since he’s from Cleveland Heights, decided to have some fun and hop on the bandwagon by mentioning the news. However, they did so by poking fun at the couple and even “accusing” them of stealing attention away from their breaking news.
“Thanks a lot, Taylor Swift. Now no one cares that next year’s schedule is out,” The Guardians wrote on social media, including a photo of their 2026 schedule.
