On Tuesday, ESPN named the biggest "surprise" player on each NFL team and they went with an offensive player for the Kansas City Chiefs.
ESPN's Adam Teicher listed running back Jerrick McKinnon as the Chiefs' biggest surprise player this season.
McKinnon has become a valuable member of the Chiefs' offense. He plays on passing downs because he's the team's most trusted pass protector and is accomplished as a receiver. He is third on the team in pass receptions with 46 and is also tied for second on the Chiefs with six touchdowns.

McKinnon, who turned 30 earlier this spring, is having a career year in Kansas City this season.
The former Georgia Southern standout has already set a career-high with 429 receiving yards this season. He also has a career-high five receiving touchdowns in 2022.
McKinnon has always had talent. But he wasn't always in a great spot to fully utilize his talent. There's no doubt he landed in a perfect situation with the Chiefs, a team that fully understands how to properly utilize McKinnon's unique skillset as a pass-catching running back.
If the Chiefs bring home another Lombardi Trophy later this season, McKinnon will be a big reason why.
