Former Chiefs' WR Demarcus Robinson may have just hinted at possible return

Why would he not want to re-join the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs have always had great receivers. Well, you could make the case they have either always had great ones, or Patrick Mahomes makes them look great. I won't argue either statement.

This last season, they did it with almost an entirely new receiver group. Mecole Hardman was the only guy from last season to return for this Super Bowl season in 2022, in the receiver group that is.

They added JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Justin Watson, Kadarius Toney, and Skyy Moore. That is an entirely new receiver group that Mahomes not only won MVP with but won a Super Bowl with.

Now they will have to find another receiver to fill the void of Smith-Schuster, who left for the New England Patriots in free agency.

There is one former Chiefs receiver who has somewhat hinted at a comeback to Kansas City. While Demarcus Robinson isn't a wide receiver one by any means, he would be the perfect fit for a depth piece in the group.

Earlier this week, the former Chiefs receiver, and Baltimore Ravens receiver last season, posted a picture of his 2019 Super Bowl ring with the Chiefs on his Instagram story. The caption read "Need another one!."

If you ask me, that's hinting at a possible return. But, maybe he is just saying he needs another ring in general. I'm not going to put words in his mouth or say he is definitely hinting at a return, but to me, that's what it feels like.

Bringing Robinson back wouldn't be a bad idea at all. He knows the offense, knows the staff, and has good chemistry with Mahomes. In six years with the Chiefs, Robinson accumulated nearly 1,700 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns, which is impressive when you factor in he was often times the fourth option on the offense behind Kelce, Hill, and Hardman.

Robinson is currently a free agent who made just $1.035 million last season. I think the Chiefs could easily afford him too.
