The Kansas City Chiefs are still fresh off of another Super Bowl, and while Patrick Mahomes flew his team out to Las Vegas to party some more, the news and rumors surrounding Andy Reid started to come onto the Twitter timeline.
Not too long ago, the Chiefs announced they were giving new deals or extending some of their coaching staff members, such as defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and defensive line coach Joe Cullen. Early Monday morning, the news hit that those two may not be the only ones.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Kansas City Chiefs will soon enter negotiations with Andy Reid to not only extend him but make him the highest-paid coach in the NFL.
Now, don't worry – the head coach's salary does not go on the books for the salary cap, so this isn't taking away money they are allowed to spend on free agents like Chris Jones and L'Jarius Sneed.
And, let's be honest: Andy Reid deserved to be one of the highest-paid coaches in the league a long time ago, and now that Bill Belichick has had the fall-off he has had, there isn't another coach currently in the league who is better than big red.
He deserves all of the money the Chiefs want to give him.
