The 2023 NFL preseason is officially over. 

The Kansas City Chiefs brass will soon turn their attention to assembling the 53-man roster and 16-man practice squad. Brett Veach and Andy Reid have some difficult decisions ahead of the 53-man deadline on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 4:00 p.m. ET. You can find all of the information that you need to know regarding roster cut rules here.

It's important to note that the following players are already on injured reserve for the Chiefs:

• CB Nazeeh Johnson
• TE Jody Fortson

As a result, they'll both be ineligible to be designated to return for the 2023 NFL season. This is true of any player placed on injured reserve while a member of the 90-man offseason roster.
