The 2025 NFL Season has not started the way the Kansas City Chiefs would have hoped.

After falling to the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil in Week 1, the Chiefs returned to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday for their home opener, which also just so happened to be a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl. And unfortunately for Kansas City, this one ended similarly, with the Philadelphia Eagles coming out on top.

So, what could this mean for the rest of the season?

Well, obviously, it’s much too early to be talking about the playoffs, but if you’re a Chiefs fan, you are probably getting a little worried. And unfortunately, the last time Kansas City missed the playoffs, the season started very similarly.

Counting the Super Bowl loss, the Chiefs have now dropped three straight, which is the first time this has happened since Patrick Mahomes joined the team. The last time Kansas City did this was during the 2014 season when Mahomes was a freshman at Texas Tech.

And with that, KC Star’s Vahe Gregorian pointed out that since 1990, 288 NFL teams have began the season 0-2, and with that, only 35 have gone on to make the playoffs.

So the question is… will the Chiefs make it 36? We’ll have to wait and see

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid provides injury updates after Week 2 loss

Following this tough loss, head coach Andy Reid provided an update on Mike Danna and Kristian Fulton, who both left the game early due to injury.

For Danna, he left with what was described as a hip injury, while Fulton suffered an ankle injury.

“As far as the injuries go, Mike Danna tweaked his left quad,” Reid said. “And (Kristian) Fulton tweaked his ankle there. We’ll just see how, how that is going forward.”
